Koni/Bilstein struts backordered

Ah, well to take it even a step further, has anyone tried different struts to know well enough to actually quantify the difference?  Meaning, we all "hear" X is a great strut and "Y" is bad, but if I put in, say KYB versus Bilstein, will I really be able to tell that much of a difference?

Yup.  They're different.  And one person might like one thing, another, another.

And springs play a big part, too.  As do tires, aspect ratio, and road quality.

You might even have liked the KYB if we could still get the gas-a-justs for the front.

I thought they were really good for $45 or whatever they were, especially with ST springs or other 'stage one' sorta stuff.

Does it MATTER?  Lap times say yes, but not maybe in the ways you'd predict.

FYI - my good used front HD's have gone to another member.

I heard similar from the suppliers I checked.  Once talked directly to bilstein and said October, but with the retooling comment I'd say they are NLA.  Makes me very relieved I got what I needed when I did.  If somebody out there has a shelf full off these things waiting for the bottom of the market to fall out and make a profit now is the time...:D

No attempt to hijack. But has anyone tried Stagg struts? Crops up on EBay search.

I was checking Into them awhile ago. But all I can find was a few off-roaders liked them. But nothing on their struts/BMW.

Stick with KYB rather than cheap eBay shocks. Why don’t you try Spax?

Where does one buy or read about Spax front inserts?

Click on the website in Simeon's post, then click on "where to buy".
