WTB: Recaro style seats.

My '74 2002 has all the performance upgrades but the early-style seats feel like slippery marshmallows.   I know this is like finding a unicorn, but I have nothing to lose by asking, right?    Looking for E21 sport or LX seats that will fit the 2002 rails without major mods.  The E30 seats are not really an option.   Condition of leather/vinyl is not terribly important since I will probably cover them to match my blue interior.

I have been trying to work the angles trying to get a Recaro setup. You can buy cheap ones that need to be rebuilt. But you are no further ahead by the time you get the parts.

Aardvark has them, although you will need to call to see if they have cores.

Well, I ended up buying a set on-line from Coquette of California, who will also recover them in the marine blue I wanted.  They can also make a matching set for the rear seats, so I bought those as well.  Not cheap, but hopefully worth it.  

 

Coquette of California is also zoomzoomzoom-ing on eBay and they sometimes have seats listed there.  If you want recovered seats without having to recover them yourself, this seems like a good way to go.
