....Thought the car was originally blue, but the early interior pic looks like Agave Green???

Jim,

Based on the exterior photos, Atlantic? (Dark) Riviera?

Interior floors and chassis undersides are bad places to judge color: the color coats were not evenly or completely applied in these areas. It was often simply “overspray” on top of the gray or green factory primer. Factory Malaga, for instance, often looks purple in these areas. I, too, see glimpses of green, but I suspect this was an Atlantic 1600.

Best regards,

Steve

Steve- my Malaga car looks purple in pics. Since I had an Agave 71 this interior looks pretty darn similar - regardless of the exterior color hues.

When are are you back in GA?  Your location shows NY.

Hey, Jim,

Just as we (Katherine) got transferred from NYC to Atlanta in 2007, we got transferred back to NYC in 2016.

I miss Atlanta!

Best regards,

Steve

Mystery solved!!!

Saul and I have been emailing since the car was posted.

I ran ran the VIN through BMW.

Here is the reply:

The BMW 1600 US VIN 1570177 was manufactured on October 02nd, 1969 and delivered on October 08th, 1969 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Atlantik, paint code 041.

The car and I share the same birthday!!!!

it is just 3 years older.

AND

we just ‘shook’ over the phone.

The car will be heading to Oregon (via Austin) very soon.

!!!!!

Cheers

Geoff
