I also had a question about my vin, when I type it in anywhere it never comes up. Is that common? It's the number from the original vin plate. Even when I try to look things up at work it doesn't ever pull up in the system.

The shorter VIN throws them off - try https://www.bmwclasicos.com/servicios.php#Vin

You can also request build date & original exterior color from BMW Archives.

Send an email to archives, with the VIN, requesting their data on the car.

There is no charge. They generally respond within two business days.

Their latest response time to me was delayed due to (most likely) staffing issues.   Julia was the one who responded to my last request.

Photo dump from shoot for an interview I did recently. Not much progress since it's been cold out, but I did finally get the rest of the window hardware blasted so that stuff is ready to be put back together (if I can remember how it all goes together).

 Also I put the roof trims on yesterday  with a lot of struggling. I'll fix them this weekend along with the B pillar trim placement.
