Check out the lower case letter ‘a’ in both stickers, they are different!

Chris,

I can’t figure out what this means, if, indeed, it means anything other than “this stuff really didn’t matter at the time”! There were so many versions during the era, it sometimes seems like they printed up 1,000 stickers at a time and then did a new version with the next printing. Why does the ‘02’s fuse sticker have (reserved) locations for power antenna, luggage compartment light, glove compartment light, engine compartment light, etc.? None of these were even options. Clock and fuel pump are in a different class because the sticker had to serve on multiple sub-models, including the tii.

(Mo,

Are you sure you want to take this project on?)

Best regards,

Steve

The pic above that HBChris posted above looks very similar to one of the pics I posted months back in another post when engine decals got brought up, my cars an original May 1975 which to my knowledge still bares the original stickers supplied by factory, although my brake fluid sticker is no where to be found....

By the by, EuroTech, what’s your car’s VIN? Every “factory” installation of the plastic OEM spark plug wire conduit appears to be on 1975 models. It appeared and disappeared fast, although lots of other ‘02 owners liked the idea and started retro-fitting the conduits to other ‘02’s.

Regards,

Steve

I know Steve....I am still working on collecting information :)

Some of the details are best left alone -- ie. the best possible 'guess' or option in this case.....

Standard deviation.....mean...etc....

I am hoping more owners will post & we can formulate a reasonable answer.....

It was the 1960's and 70's

+1

I, sure as hell, never read one of my underhood stickers in the ‘70’s... ?

And I got along just fine... ?

Best regards,

Steve

OK, Les,

Take luggage compartment light off my “what-the-hell-are-these” list!

Best regards,

Steve

Is this confirmed 100%?? My 2002tii has an odd feature in the trunk, could be home made but it looks fairly involved and the car came to me in very original condition.

I didn’t check to see if it was operational before I pulled the engine and wiring harness before paint.

Nice feature, Ryan, and someone took the time to route the wiring through the trunk lid.

But it’s doubtful it was a factory installation. Could be as old as the car, however. Someone here might recognize the actual light fixture, which appears to have an on-off switch. Is the electrical supply always on? How about a photo of where the power leads jump from the trunk lid to the car’s body?

Factory wiring diagrams can be useful in tracking down options, or even the availability of options. Have you looked at a wiring diagram for a 1971 (tii or non-tii) and tried to trace the two colored wires used here?

Best regards,

Steve

Ill have to snap a few more photos next time I am with the car. If its some crazy home made contraption Ill likely just remove it. There was a similar lamp under the hood also. It had been there for many a decade. Maybe someone got crafty back in the 70s.
