Door glass trim/seal/squeegee thingy

FWIW - if you order a new genuine BMW one, it is a semi-rigid plastic with a thin 4mm wide felt strip attached - and must be trimmed slightly (18-22mm+/-) to fit. Earlier cars came with softer rubber squeegee seals in this location, which are far less durable. The new stuff lasts for many years when properly installed.

I call these the exterior "squeegee seal". Item number 8 in the linked illustration below. Does not include metal trim. Held in with several re-useable clips. If you're removing the trim to install this seal, work VERY slowly with soft wood (or plastic) and a mallet to remove - so as not to bend the aluminum. When re-installing…get it 100% perfectly aligned FIRST, before pressing the trim back down and on. If you have it too far back, it will hit the quarter panel trim and you cannot safely "tap it forward" without distorting / mushrooming the end.

HTH!

Oddly enough, the most recent pair from Blunt we’re back to rubber! Not sure if that is the norm, but they were genuine BMW. Go figure.
