VIN 2761327 was probably manufactured between April 4 and April 8, 1972. I suggested to the seller that he request and display a (free) BMW Group Archives report, but that was, apparently, more work than he could muster to help achieve his $50K goal... ?

I'd say early April 1972 manufacture date is pretty close;

"The BMW 2002 tii US VIN 2761401 was manufactured on April 13th, 1972...". Wonder if that was a Friday?

April 13, 1972 was a... Thursday. ?

 

My records show VIN 2761315 as manufactured on Tuesday, April 4, 1972, and VIN 2761350 as manufactured on Saturday, April 8, 1972. Based on these data points, I suggest a manufacturing date range for the subject vehicle, VIN 2761327, of April 4 through April 8, 1972.
