Tii Clock repairs?

Recommended Posts

The tip of a screw driver may not be thin enough to get between the bezel and the clock body.  Use a wood carving knife.  The tip of the knife below has been broken off to provide a small flat tip.  The flat tip is thin and strong enough to go around the bezel 1/16" steps multiple times to pry off the bezel.

Also, I've never seen the "small wire" in the instruction below.  Typically, there is a circular block of very low melt solder.  The solder block heats up and break (like a fuse) in case the clock movements seize up.  Do not use a wire to connect the two tabs;  Use low melt solder.

I often wondered how professional clock repair shops removed the bezel.  I have shucked a few tii clocks and it's never pretty.

Also, I posted a repair some years ago, FWIW.

  • 1 year later...

I used wire cutting tweezers for the sharp profile nose and slowly pry the outer ring with pressure this gave me minimal damage compared to using a screwdriver.
