Vintage Cibie with one amber one white as done in Europe

IMG_2124.jpg

I ran an amber fog and a clear driving light — in Marchal 850’s — for a brief period of time. Separately switched. But I got so tired of people telling me that my lights didn’t match, I swapped the amber fog lens for a clear fog lens. Then, since the two lights were separately switched, they told me that one of my lights was burned out. The U.S. was not ready for this European sophistication in 1977....?

Regards,

Steve

Hella halogen 140s. I love them on the pastelblauw. They're not wired up yet, but will be soon.

This post is a little redundant with the other current thread about fog lights, but I took a couple of fresh photos today.

I made mounts for these freebie non-fancy lights.  Behind the grilles they are two inch tall mounts that use the bumper shock mounting bolts and the fogs hang on aluminum brackets attached to the bumper shocks.  No new holes in the precious Big Bumper.

(rectangular lights front and rear now)

Here was a quick and dirty 1" tall mount for behind the grilles (using the same big bumper shock mounting bolts).  It works with the round style lights.

And the Lucas LR/FT 8 on roundie bumper mounted.

were on the car when I bought decades ago, always thought I’d replace with round but never got to it and now I sorta like the unusualness and oh-so-period look.

Granted they are a bit on the large side, the Hella rallye 2000 driving lights transform night driving on backroads( with stabilizer brackets, of course!). The Bosch pair are 160mm fog lights.

I’ve got four Marchal 709’s ready to install, but I want to make adjustable stabilizer brackets with wing nuts like the old rallye cars used.
