Despite the possible scams, I have bought several cars through CL and I've sold a few that way as well. So far, I have been lucky. In each case we talked on the phone first, then met up with each other to see if we might strike a deal. If there is bad chemistry for any reason, I am not going to work with that individual. That's not to say that I couldn't get burned one day!

Oodle.com is really bad I think.    I was interested in a Inka 02 tii.

The owner was on an oil rig somewhere . Told him I owned a helicopter and could pick him up.

Never heard back.

UPDATE!!  So for shits and giggles I wanted to see if I could squeeze some info about who this scammer is - so after a bit of my make-shift detective skills, I was able to find his IP address. So after, doing an IP lookup, I found a lot of interesting fraud complaints with this "seller".  It's interesting to see how long this scam artist has been at it for.
