WTB 73/74 gas tank

I’m looking for a 73 or 74 gas tank. I am in Philadelphia.

1974-76 U.S.-spec cars have reinforced bodies to meet U.S. DOT crash standards. In order to accommodate the reinforcements, the 1974-76 fuel tanks have a cropped right rear corner. Because of this, I believe that square taillight fuel tanks (1974-76) will fit into U.S. round taillight bodies, but not vice versa.

 

So if you have a 1974, a 1973 tank will probably not fit. But if you have a 1973, a 1974 tank will likely fit.

 

(Separately, tii fuel tanks are different from non-tii tanks, and early cars had shorter filler spouts than later cars.)
