you can convert to Euro bumpers and people will barely notice it's a squartail..plus you'll lose like  800 pounds of bumper stuff

 

squaretails are totally accepted these days. Especially in the right

color like Jade or Verona or Cham'

 

Just lately a real nice restored Jade Square' sold here..everybody

loved that car

I had enquired about about that car some time ago. I received an email from the owners daughter. She stated that she worked for the Discovery Chanel and was going out of the country on assignment. She offered me the car for just over 18k. It just seemed wrong to come down so much on price?

 

I believe the Craigslist ad is bona fida; the car was also on BAT back in Sep last year. The Owner just wants too much money for it.

 

In March this year there was a scam on Ebay (karenstowe) that offered the car at $25k.

Of your list, if you concentrate on the 5 speed (good used 5 speeds are  becoming difficult to find, we're using up the supply of 80-83 E21 parts cars) and A/C...and not be quite as picky on colors (you realize of course that Estoril blue isn't a 2002 color).  Most of your other "must have" things can be done by you without too much work.   

 

Half the fun of owning an '02 is making it uniquely yours...

I know the Estoril blue is a modern BMW color but it just looks so good. 

 

One of of the people I spoke with was Ray Korman and he said there used to be a few air con options before and now there is only one. 

 

As as for the Getrag if I have difficulty I can buy one from Metric Mechanic??

 

what I would like to have sometimes isn’t available this many years later.
