New 2002 Registry sticker/badge

Although I don’t understand why, it is difficult to get people to spend 30 seconds obtaining a BMW Group Archives report on their car and then 3 minutes putting that data and a few relevant photos in a registry. ?

Nonetheless, we have made measurable progress with the excellent new registry that Steve K. created for bmw2002faq.com.

I would like us do everything possible to focus our efforts on the registry on bmw2002faq.com.  Anything that sends us to an alternative registry should be avoided.

Let’s build our registry!

An email with your car’s VIN sent to info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com, requesting their data, will get you the key elements to make a complete registry entry. There is no charge whatsoever for that BMW Group Archives data. You generally receive a reply within two business days.

Thanks and regards,

Steve

maybe it's me, but when I went to the FAQ registry to look up whether my cars were registered, there didn't seem to be any way to search for my car other than brute force paging through 16 pages of posts.  A database without search capability is of limited usefulness.  Did I miss something?

At least they're in numerical order - that's some helps!

Okay, to put a point on this, I’m going to finalize two main badges/stickers:

Neue Klasse registry

2002 registry

both will include the web address of the registry here only.

I think Steve is willing to order in bulk at least the latter as stickers.

Model year and tii versions will also be provided but those will likely have to be custom orders, especially the combined year/tii sticker.

There was...….www.bmw2002registry.com......ran by Keith Kreeger and Rob Torres. It resurrected and improved the "original" Register/Registry that Rob had back in the late '90s. Unfortunately, Keith & Rob's also disappeared 2 or 3 years ago.

+1

That’s what I use! The ‘73 tii (2762757) is currently on page 12 and the ‘76 (2742541) is currently on page 9. And if people keep entering their cars, soon they’ll be on pages 13 and 10! ?

Regards,

Steve

If you type your VIN into the site's search box in the upper right, the registry entry should come up.  Mine does.  For a little while it didn't work.  I think it was when the site got updated a couple months ago.  It seems to be working again.

Well, as I said, it's marginally useful.  With standard database search functions it would be fun/cool/useful to be able to find/locate all the 1968 Granada's, or cars in New Mexico, or 1974 tii's, etc.

Anyway, I thought mine were in there, but they were not, so I'll be adding 3 entries.

Thanks all!

Try clicking in the items in blue within each car in the registry, or check out the colors or models databases.
