Surprised to see no comments and then realized it's an automatic.  Seems like the kiss of death to an otherwise really nice example.

Yeah. Autos don’t get much love. The color on this one seems a bit mustard-y rather than neon yellow....

Typical "Dealer speak". Seller states it's an "original specimen".

It's had some bodywork done at the front, replacement nose or fenders or all. Seats are 1974, mixed up gauges.

That doesn’t look like Golf to me. That doesn’t look like an ‘02 color to me. There are, however, some possible remnants of Golf in the heater/defroster plenum and scattered around the engine compartment.

Given what a mish-mash of parts this car is, I’d confirm the original color — which may well be Golf — with BMW Group Archives (info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com).

Geez I'm a sucker for a cute face and an uncracked dash.  Didn't look any further.  Chalked the color discrepancy upto photography or my monitor.
