Low mileage S14 + Trans and Sweet M2 on BaT

Agreed! That’s why I was thinking to myself “STFU you idiot!!” when the seller was reacting with palpable astonishment after the sale...instead of maintaining a blasé poker-face as if it were a perfectly unremarkable result lol.

S14 and tranny here. Still way too much.

$18.5k

$12.5k

It seems that I once bought two very nice S14 for $2.5k each from a reputable shop with trannies going for $300...

Speaking of strong prices, this Agave tii sold for $42k.

It's a nice looking car, and a tii and all that, but that seemed like a pretty strong price.  Maybe I'm behind the curve on what roundie tiis are worth these days.

Happy Holidays,

$27,500 is crazy money.  Looks like two guys wanted it. Half wonder if that deal will go through when the winner realizes what he did.

not just crazy money.  stupid money.   engines are available for a lot less...rebuilt.  the real question is will the sale actually go through?  the high bidder was new, zero prior bids or history.  sham?

so many of the BaT auction end with high bidder backing out.

Is the high bidder just the lister's buddy trying to drive the price up?  Fresh rebuilt engines for much less...

Edit; blasphemy ahead; those easily triggered proceed with caution, or just go back now.  You've been warned.

Is the engine, for what it is, really even that special?  For sentimental reasons, sure, but as a 2.3L, 16v, 4 cylinder motor?  As much as I dislike Honda, seems like the K series and the F20/22 motors sure don't suck...

Nice, sounds really mpressive! What are your specs?

I’m attaching my last dyno sheet from awhile back, before I added the 48MM TBs and had the car retuned by North Bay Bavarian. All numbers are at the rear wheels. The guys at NBB told JP at A-1 that they’d never seen a more powerful S14. One thing I’d love to upgrade is the engine management. The current system works great (SplitSecond piggyback) but I’d love to go all out with a MoTec stand-alone or something on that level...

:D

Very nice! I think you'd benefit from something other than the Split Second. I had that before going to closed loop alpha n (which is old tech now I think).

  • Thanks 1

Ray

Stop reading this! Don't you have anything better to do?? :P
Two running things. Two broken things.

I just finished setting up a S14 in a 2002 on a Haltech Elite 1000 in California and I'm in Denver.  He fought an Electromotive Tec III for years.  He drives around and it tunes itself.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Oh sweet, you're setting them up now.  When do you want to come up and set mine up?  :)  I really need to stop finding other stuff to do.
