My 69 came to me with that weird engine mount.

Hope you kept it, Jim, for our Museum of Crap Parts Installed by BMW! I’m saving a spot for it

Fear not, Steve--I still have mine for show and tell sessions with other 02 owners...

Hey Mike! I'm actually looking for the original chrome exhaust tip :(
do you know where I can find one?

Please take this with a grain of salt but a BMW parts supplier (last week) told me that BMW will manufacture the chrome exhaust tips again in May of 2020.  I will believe it when I can actually hold one of them in my hand.

Check the Autohaus Arizona web site.  At least a couple of years ago, they had a stainless steel version of the tip that's identical to the OEM chrome-plated brass one--and it was reasonable priced.  They don't corrode and stress crack like the OEM ones...

Was there a bit near the battery positive terminal which attached to the core support to protect the post from touching the chassis?

Yes the later ones looked something like this I believe.  It seems the early cars sometimes had metal pieces there.

and the dust cover on the bottom of the intermediate shaft that protects the cup on the other side of the KF, which I don’t have.

The verboten screws cover is pictured below also.

How about the "protection cap" that was on the end of the seat rail.  I think my car might have one left.  If I remember it is "L" shaped, maybe a silvery plastic.

Watch out BAT, armed with this ammunition, the next 02 coming up for sale is going to scrutinized by the peanut gallery.  I can hear it now... "well you know, its obviously missing the fuel line retention clip on the KF and that lack of seat rail retention caps are a red flag"

Fun project:  bending a bicycle spoke around a dowel makes a great replica as well as being stainless.

Early prototype picture.  Expect to make a few.  The first ones don't necessarily turn out the way you want.
