Noted!

I'm sorry.

Who am I to dampen the enthusiasm?

If it'd spun-off to old VWs, or EA81 Subarus, I'd've been right in there with you.

You started this thread and the auction's done, might as well continue the fun!

"Let's hear it:_____________"    is the title of this thread.

Fill in the blank as you please, sir.

Geez Rich, bored out and Webers? Far cry from 'a once over'.

Easy there Mike, easy...

Actually the Type IV is a good motor. Jake Raby builds a real stump puller ,  One of my projects before the turn of the   century was a 914 I occasionally tracked . Based on some info we got from the west coast, we hogged the motor out to 2.7...I think the  pistons were 105mm. ..lots of head work .DeLorto 40mm carbs. Raised some eyebrows at Pocono where it easily pulled the 914-6 2 liter

A little older and a little shorter in the power department but still a hoot to drive. I love Wringing it out after I’ve got some heat in the oil. B172BCD6-DEC3-48F9-8002-C853A07FF3DE.thumb.jpeg.4ee1ce2927edf1b90f2eec2b0c2d9806.jpeg

Looking forward to the day when there’s more space in the garage and there’s an ‘02 next to it.

Ok. Here we go for what looks to be an actual 1600, looks to be from Italy originally.   Have not had a chance to really go through the pictures yet but will be interesting to see how the 1600 values compare to the 2002's. (at least for me!)

The Atlantik 1600 on BAT listed above is ending within the end half hour.  At 21K last time I checked.  Will be interesting to see the final price.

Sold for 26,750.  Considering it being unrestored and the color, I thought it would go for around 30K.
