Rich,

I think Golf stopped with the 1973 model but I would ask Steve (Conserv).  He will be able to tell you for sure.

Rich,

I just checked, and Golf continued to be offered through the end of 2002 production in 1976. It appears in all the brochures of the square taillight era (9/73 through 2/76).

Below are some photos of the February 1974 color and upholstery brochure. As you can see from the concordance (first photo), the default factory pairing for a Golf exterior was a black cloth-and-vinyl (S 0001, Euro-spec) or black all-vinyl (K 0005, U.S. import) interior.

It’s not a common ‘02 color. When BMW Group Archives (info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com) re-opens to the public at the end of 2022, an email to them with the car’s VIN will, once again, allow you to confirm the car’s factory color.

Regards,

Steve

See, if malaga looked like this...  (My wife says malaga is elegant.  I'm not very elegant, maybe that's why it's not for me.)

Just circled back to this thread and found a pix of my old track car.

73 Tii stock build, Porsche Macan   , E46 330i Florida driver,

….and like most of us, way too many (maybe 30 at last count) I wish I hadn't sold ?
