Fun stuff, dude. Never seen the sport steering box/power assist combo but those fat wheels would be a workout with just a sport box.

I feel like I've asked you 10 times but are you painting the carbon body panels? The patina + high tech Frankenstein is kinda cool.

Our resident s14 aficionado @RacingAli runs this set up in his car and claims he loves it, so I'm taking a leap of faith and will get it done.

The whole car will be painted a single color - single stage Colorado Orange.

It was well-written, for your age.

The IRS thinks I'm 31 years old now. Should I tell them?

I sent out a few pieces from this car to be plated.

While the doors are apart I sent most of door internals out to be clear zinc'd.

I also removed a few things in the engine bay to be yellow zinc'd. Lots of little nuts and bolts, things like air cleaner clamps, the little metal brackets that hold the spark plug wires, and various screws diff bolts and plugs. I had all door hardware replated as well.

I'm gearing up to do a decent sized chrome plate run for things like tail light bezels, headlight beauty rings, door handles, inner door card things, and anything else I can think of.

I went ahead and secured another set of all exterior finishing trims too. Just kind of went all in these last few weeks. I don't know if I want to restore another car after this one. I'll be wiped out on 2002s for a few years. I've also said that before.

And a mildly updated but still very dirty engine bay.

I've also acquired a spare intake set up for this 73 tii engine that I'll have vapor honed and ceramic clear coated. I just vapor honed a spare diff cover too.

I will sell this engine in the coming months, but I will first make it pretty and reseal it. Why not.

More to come

All delicious Ryan. Pardon my spaciness, but are you going the S14 route on this one as you’ll be selling the tii engine?

Hi Wendel, great question.

I have a core s14 sitting on a stand in sacramento that I have yet to tear into. This is probably the right direction to go into ultimately, but I have a craving of building a turbo m10 using the spare tii intake manifold system, bottom mount turbo, updated EFI, with a simple goal of 225ish whp. Paul and I are going to build twin motors loosely based on the 2002tiK racecars of the late 60s that would spank 911s of the era. We already have the look (alpina-esque), so turbo motors would be awesome. I will have to increase the rear wheel width to 10" which I can do with 6" barrels.

What is that big piece of metal doing back there behind where the rear (top) seat goes?

Your jokes get worse and worse every year. Please never stop.

Is he sitting in the car to keep if from floating away ?

Lol. He's the new SOC employee. We sniped him from Singer. He is a composites specialist and he weights maybe a a buck fiddy; hardly heavy enough to make a difference if a strong gust of wind were to push through.

Forgot to post these in this thread, but I finished up the carbon door skins and the dashboard!

Oh and the front nose skin is full carbon from the grill mounting points on down.
