IMG_0571.jpgSal at Rennsport in Hackensack, NJ had these new trunk panels made for one of his project cars so I scooped a set up to build from.  They come with the little tabs to mount into the trunk too.  If you're looking to do something similar reach out to him.

And time for the doors.  Vent windows dropped in, followed by door glass and window regulators.

Finally door handles too.

IMG_1074.jpgMirrors going in as well.  For some reason, the new OEM mirror set screw wasn't threaded so I had to tap it before installing.  IMG_1150.jpg

Gettin' there JP.  Driver seat went in and it was time to take it out.  I tried loading a couple of videos of driving around the neighborhood, but they didn't work.  I'll save this space and try again later.

Since it moved, stopped and didn't leak, I figured it was time to get fresh rubber and get it up on the rack.  Proper road test was in order and with Father's Day around the corner, no better time.

Dropped the passenger seat in.  Front grills and roundel really give the car it's character.

Layered in dust, it needed a wash.

Wow! Just wow.

How durable is the PPF? Special precautions when washing it?

Thanks!

PPF is pretty resilient.  The guys were showing how durable it is even with a wire brush to it.  Not on mine, but a scrap piece they slapped on a scrap door.  Looked like an infomercial seeing the self healing in it.

Washing just requires different non conventional products.  Same process of washing and quick detailers.  The biggest difference is no waxing (but that's what ceramic coating is for).

I see that the gas cap now appears to be clocked correctly :)

Do you have any paint left over? I need a sample. My ugly car is supposed to be Riviera.

Looks great!

Cheers,

Ray

Stop reading this! Don't you have anything better to do?? :P

I have not seen this thread before. I am at the front end of what I hope to be a resto similar to yours on a '76, my car is completely stripped to the tub and is about to go off for metal and paint work. Spectacular work on this, just spectacular. Thank you for sharing this, I will come back to this thread for a dose of perseverance when I get frustrated and crimp my brake lines!!!! Great great job.
