Ground Control/CAtuned Coilovers... opinions

Recommended Posts

Looking into upgrading to coilover suspension. Narrowed it down to Ground Control full setup and CAtuned full setup, both adjustable spring perches in the rear and coilover in the front.

I know they’re both highly valued companies, just want to see if anyone has had experience with these coilovers and can give me any info... good or bad! Thanks.

I have never had a bad experience with GC-

their response times are slower when they are busy, but they always respond.

They make GREAT hardware that hold up well.

GC sells and services Koni shocks, so that's what's in their 'kits'.

They only do suspension, so that's what you'll get.

I have no experience with Catuning.

no question...GC.  extremely respected company know for high end race hardware.  every car i take to the track has GC suspension components.  GC uses custom valved Koni dampers.  spring rates vary with intended use.

CAT .... never seen in person, but nobody i know in the racing community uses any of their stuff.  they seem to be more associated with slammed/stanced crowd.   no-name dampers.  no spring rate options on the website that i found.  there is zero chance i would put any CAT stuff on my cars.

soo...what are you looking for?  performance or looks?

just my opinion.....

Without knowing your spring rates, I suggest removing that factory rear bump stop. Keeping it in place will severely limit your rear suspension travel.

What Jim said. Get rid of that factory bump stop in the spring.

What Marsh, er, M2M3 said.  To add, there's a bumpstop on the shock shaft itself, so you still have one.  Hell, there is on mine- GC Konis.
