Trim holes re-drill or go stick on?

Recommended Posts

I have stick on, I do plan on going back to the original.  I have a full set of restorable trim, along with a buffer and proper compound.   This is something that I will do in the coldest part of winter, while I am waiting on pistons.

Who’s got a link to this stick on trim? What do the ends look like?

Thanks in advance

Rich

Here is a link https://cowlesproducts.com/body-molding-official/Cowles®-S37750-Custom-Chrome-Molding-Trim-1-2-x-18-p147363402 it's on Amazon as well. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008MT0HA4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A12089RUGB4Q3E&psc=1

I haven't used it yet, but might when and if ever get the damn paint done. On another thread i have read the ends are gray, and to cut them at a slight angle so they don't show.  If you do it, post pics please.

Hope that helps, Hans.

They're a medium grey that hides nicely. Undercut them a little too help house the ends everywhere except at the leasing edge of the doors. Here you may need to bevel them some to clear the fender when opening the door, so you'll see a little more grey. Here's some pics to help.

Has anyone used a similar stick on product for the roof drip line trim? I assume it would be a 'U' shape or something like that but I've never seen anything like a stick on product used here.

It appears there is stuff like that at this site. Not sure if size but shape looks good. Down a little bit on page.

I used door edge stick on for the drip edge. Pretty sure I got it from Autozone. Looks fine.
