Help identifying these?

Came across these heater bezels while sorting stuff. These are early 02 right?  Dont remember what they came off of. Its been many years.

For pre '73 Euro cars or 66--67 (and maybe very early 1968 1600) US spec cars.  Federal requirements that took effect 1 Jan 1968 forbade shiny chrome visible to the driver...

I did have an early basket case1600 or 1500 years ago, traded something or another for it.  Probably came from it.

But we have seen these shiny bits in cars like my old Agave 71 and @zinz car.

And Jim’s (@jimk) delivered-at-the-factory 1971 (?), which is the most confounding example because the chance of a unknown swap are/were nil!

 

These shiny versions are really not supposed to be legal, as Mike said. Could any of these shiny examples on 1968 and later U.S. cars have accompanied a post-factory dashboard change?

 

Are all the examples of shiny (chromed?) heater bezels 1971 models? Just curious... Rogue bezel installer? Fire in the bezel factory? ?
