This is the 2nd time the Seller has quoted the VIN as 2380015, which is another Malaga car residing in Fort Collins (same Owner?).

 

FWIW the VIN of the car for sale is 2376243.

Agreed, Les — confusing.

 

VIN 2376243 is a U.S. 1976 model 2002, manufactured November 1975. VIN 2380015 is a U.S. 1975 model 2002A, manufactured August 1974. It was the 15th automatic car manufactured for the 1975 model year; I’m guessing it was built in late August.

 

Could the engine in VIN 2376243 be the original engine from VIN 2380015? Common ownership of the two could have facilitated the swap.

I believe the ad did say 'the engine was sourced from...'  That might explain it.

 

Irregardless. (I love that that's in the dictionary now.)  If someone is interested, that's just around the corner from where I get my non-ethanol gasoline, so I'd be happy to take a look.
