Duplicating the heat seams is what no one is (yet) doing. You can match the perforated vinyl closely, and you can create the pleats with real stitching, but the original heat seaming, in the style used from 1966 through most of 1971 created a flat-bottom valley between the pleats with a single row of “stitching” molded in vinyl!
 

If you need that level of original appearance, you’re left looking for original perforated vinyl you can swap into your seat. Hint: don’t worry about color of the replacement original vinyl: dye will work wonders!
