ISO "Bow" style rear bumper brackets for '73

Recommended Posts

Looking for a pair of loop style "bow" rear bumper brackets for an early US car.  These are the steel loop style brackets in the pictures below.  Part number is 51-12-1-817-357, item #3 in the diagram.

Okay if they are dirty and/or rusty, but must be straight with no accident damage.  Will be happy to pick up from anyone in Northern California, or pay reasonable shipping.

Thanks!

These were only used on U.S.-spec 1973 models. They upgraded the front and rear bumpers to pass a 2 1/2-mph crash test, without damage to the car’s sheet metal — at least under ideal test conditions. ?

They’re also known as 1973 bumper brackets.

Regards,

Steve

that illustration shows a long bumper..it will work with a short bumper but will also push it farther out from the body

Does it? In that case I am referring to the rubber cover as shown over the bow bracket here...
