Sideview mirror glass replacement Help

I'm curious also........are you saying trap clear glass is not OEM? The two trap mirrors on my Touring are clear and were there when I bought the car in 1986. I'd never seen blue glass until I moved to the US in 2000.

Clear.  But I didn't buy it from a parts supplier.  I had it cut at a local glass/mirror place using the cracked mirror as a template.

I know the mirror on mine (72) was a blue(ish) from the factory, and the same for E9's of similar vintage. MB also the offered the same mirrors on some of their  early models as well, but it is almost impossible to find just the glass(mirrors. 

 

 I ended buying a complete set of "traps" from W&N. I still remain on the hunt for the same glass as I have 3 sets of trap mirrors waiting just waiting for them.
