Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)

Hi Everyone, I have a 1975 automatic transmission 2002.
Is there a preferred ATF that people are using?

I appreciate any and all recommendations.

Dexron is the type of fluid to use, I don't really have a brand to recommend but my thought on a tranny that old would be to just  a good brand and stay away from the wiz-bang  fancy stuff.

I've used Castrol Transmax in several  older BMWs over the years.

Decent price point.

If you want to go a little "whiz bang" Havoline Synthetic ATF has worked well in more recent BMWs.

Drop the oil pan, clean out all the accumulated sludge, change filter and add new fluid.

The difference in shifting can be impressive.
