Main light switch needed

I need a main light switch in good working condition. I already bought one from the forum, but it had intermittent/choppy fade, so I couldn't use it. 

 

I need something that switches smoothly, and resistance varies smoothly when rotated. Please let me know if you have a known good part. Thanks!

I've got a bunch...but there are slight variations in them, from year to year. (spade size and / or orientation). If you post a photo of what style you have, I'll check my stash.

 

I have found that cleaning the rheostat / dimmer coils will often fix the issue you're describing. 

 

Cost? How does $10 plus a USPS flat rate box sound....IF I have the type you need.

Hi Paul - Thanks for the response. I have a '74, so any late model switch (or E21) will work (part #61311355791)
