WTB: alpina/ borrani steel wheel 13" 4/100

The attached thread is overkill, but there is a great deal of info out there on the steel rims that CMR manufactured for Alpina and its own Borrani division.

Given the range of widths originally offered, from 5” to 6 1/2” — but with post-factory “banded” versions of up to 10” out there — you might want to specify a width or widths that suit your needs. At the 6 1/2” width, you’ll probably be rolling fender lips and pulling fenders. And it has been done successfully. But if your car is flared, 6 1/2” wide might not be wide enough.

There’s a pdf form of a matrix attached to the original post in the above thread. It shows the various models, sizes, weights, etc.

Expect to pay more for Alpina steelies than Borrani steelies: they’re simply rarer. And note that the Alpina steelies were only ever offered in 5” and 5 1/2” widths. If you want rims wider than 5 1/2”, you’ll need to go with Borrani’s — unless you’re banding a set of Alpina’s (rarely done, probably because they are rare and expensive).

Good luck,

Steve
