Dog leg shift back into 1st on an 02 is an amazingly satisfying experience that never grows old IMO.

Nice transmission. I am sure it will find the right home!

Very interesting idea, Slavs! ?

I like it! ?

Really splittin' hairs with the gears on the race and rallye gearboxes.  My race car at one point had a 235/6 in it,  but at some point that gave up the ghost (probably several times). I ended up with the back end of a 235/5 plugged into the bellhousing of a 232 bellhousing and drive shaft.  I scored a Jensen Healy CR 5 speed off of ebay for like $300 that essentially was unused (had been on this guys dad's shelf for like 40 years....that was his story and apparently it was true...).  These were also used on Chevey Chevette's in Europe as an optional trans.  You could do the same with one of these or try to find a 235/5 bellhousing and drive shaft.  The 235/5 drive shaft is different from the 232/242, much more stout.  I found both so am going to build a 235/5 with what I have.

235/5 sport gearbox....

1. Gang 3.368
2. Gang 2.16
3. Gang 1.579
4. Gang 1.241
5. Gang 1.0

235/6 renn/race gearbox....

1. Gang 2.3
2. Gang 1.53
3. Gang 1.26
4. Gang 1.09
5. Gang 1.0

235/8 rallye gearbox.....

1. Gang 2.71
2. Gang 1.84
3. Gang 1.38
4. Gang 1.13
5. Gang 1.0

To think that I sold a non-rebuilt one of these for $1000 bucks many years ago.  It had the "common" slight grunch between 1st and 2nd.  Wish I still had it.  GLWS
