Question about communicating here on Faq

I curious why some  here request a email address rather than simply using the sites 

massage/mail ?

Some folks have technical limitations & find it easier to attach stuff via email; some have mechanical weaknesses; some have spelling shortcomings!

i do a lot of business that is generated from several internet sources, FAQ being one...when i'm trying to keep up with questions, orders, etc that are scattered across message boards over the internet, i cannot keep track...everything i do is tracked through my email....i have less control over a message board's communication system than i do my email...email for me is much easier to use and control and i have everything i need to know and do in one place with a permanent record that doesn't have to be deleted to make room for more

 

i have to make myself notes to remember names and what we talked about if i might need to go back to board messages... which gets frustrating

I don't have technical limitations, I just realize that the whole PC and internet are a passing fad and won't last. ?

If I understand correctly, vendors prefer to

use the emails and average members use

the message function of this site?

I check my email pretty regularly.

 

The message function on this board, not so much.

A long time ago, Andrei Codrescu did a very nice parody

of the circle- jerk that is the email notification that you have

a comment on facepook that you've been tweeted that 

you have a pin waiting on puntrest- or is it that you've pinned

something by accident on Goober maps?

If this message board could somehow add photos from our photo album directly it might be easier. Last time I used it it didn't do that.

Never had this problem.  Bought through Forums, my kids Facebook account and ebay.
