Man I was off by a lot.  This was an impressive sale considering that if the buyer had to get it here he/she will be in for another $3k-$5k or so.

There was a post by the peanut gallery going on about how there will never be another S-14 swapped into a 2002 because the engine is too expensive

/unobtanium etc.  I thought the guy was full of it, but it must have helped a bit.

either way, it was an impressive sale.

Yeah shipping it over might be a bit of a adventure there's a world wide critical shortage of shipping containers due to the covid slowdown on shipping and cargo operations.

If everybody in the room is thinking the same thing, then someone is not thinking.

Nice, 54k$. Congratulations to new owner!

Yeah, but congrats to you too. Not a bad investment building one few years ago.

I just shipped a 20' container from here to Kauai left on the 30th.

Customer service was great, fast transport and they bent over backwards to get my business.

The new owner might be pleasantly surprised.

FYI:

I was at a local SoCal shop last Friday that had 4 freshly rebuilt S14's on stands awaiting Big Dollars customers wanting this build, So yeah Someone will spend the money.

Question for Idle Minds, if a 2002Tii restoration is costing almost $100k would you spend similar amount for a S14 conversion instead?

I don't take myself or opinions Seriously

I hope they are 2.5's :)

... If I had that kind of money to blow, I'd have one of each!

25 years ago when I was exploring I was able to drive an M2 and both a turbo and a supercharged e30 M3.

The turbo version had nearly 350hp at the rear wheels but did not overpower the chassis. Changes were made to spring rates and dampening to handle the added dimension of acceleration. Specs were similar to track only cars of the period.

The cost of entry was high then but I am surprised more legacy M2 owners have not gone this route instead of selling their cars. A well done M2 is a very nice drive but having almost twice the horsepower could be therapeutic.

It's nice to see there's not so much penalty for doing a swap...  Seems like that much invested would keep the owner from driving it as a daily.  I like driving my car, I don't have an Idle Mind.
