bonnet opening with hide gas shocks

Very nice.

Also interested in a set ... but have a question about function:

Does this have some sort of 'over-center' or lock-out?

I'm just wondering how safe they are in a windy/gusty situation.

I'd hate to have the hood open at a car-show ... and have something happen.

Again, very interested ... but wonder what a 'lockout' might look like.

Regards
Geoff

Parts are made with 3mm and 5 mm thickness Steel plate. So, i dont think it will break first. The gas shock is very strong too.

After, effectively , the arm lever is reduced compare to the standard solution.

So with lot of Wind , it could  damage the bonnet if the wind want to open it more.

If the wind is in the other direction and want to close it. There is no lockout. Because i think the wind will push but i don t think it will close completely.

And if you have a lock out and you forget it. You will also damage the bonnet.

Stephane, that's a smart idea. One of the things I'd recommend if not implemented already would be to make it possible to unbolt the shock from the outside (the grill side); that way, when the shock goes bad, it will be easy to replace. Otherwise working from the engine bay side might be tough

I love the idea. If you run a larger A/C condenser you may be bumping up against it.

It looks like it will be close to clear the condenser by photos alone, otherwise I really like it

Hello

I begin to have feedback of first installation and people are happy. Now, i deliver 2 sets of gas strut. 1 strong and 1 with less effort. It permits to less bend the bonnet in the middle when it s closed and have a better and regular gap between bonnet and front face. People can choose what they prefer.
