return and supply fuel lines for Weber 45s

M2M3 used the existing metal return line for the fuel supply.  That metal line finishes up level with the front end of the engine. Did you run your flexible line to the carbs so they joined the carbs at the front as opposed to most dual carb installations that run the supply line to the back end of the carbs. I know it is not likely to make a difference to performance but running to the front end of the carbs would be a shorter route.

Really doubt it makes a difference....really, more an aesthetic thing. My first install had a t-piece between the carbs, so equal distance, because I had just replaced the mechanical pump. The revised setup with nicer hoses and no cheap plastic t-pieces goes to rear carb first, carb carries the t-piece and has a nicely finished link pipe to front carb...with no return lines.....
