The trans fits if you have a baby six in the 02. The diff fits, has usually a quite low gearing (3,45:1). The rear trailing arms can be made to fit- widens the track and gives reinforced stubaxles and wheel bearings + rear disc brakes. Requires either rear coil-overs or new platform for 02 springs (and most probably also fender flares)

The whole engine wouldnt be that bad in an 02 either (143 0r 150 hp depending on production year)

Especially the trans/diff (assume close ratio 323i box and LSD). I know the situation with the 320i box and diff, but can't figure out if the same applies with a 323i (an '82).
