If the new one does not come with the little foam bumper inside, dig the one out from the MTC unit and use it. Or simply cut off a slice from a foam earplug.

Just thought I'd update this thread...an OEM joint and pin fit perfectly :)  The only "issue" was in getting the foam insert to compress enough to get the pin in.  Once I got it started, I could push up on the joint a bit to straighten it out and the pin slid in no problem.

Bottom line: OEM worked for me (although is much more expensive than aftermarket)
