more emissions questions please...

also i noticed that the stock solex gasket was still on there. the intake was taken care of but the stock gasket was still blocking things up. is this a possible problem? it is correct now.

i went and did emissions today in AZ and here are the results for my sahara '76.

passed it all except for the hydrocarbons at idle.

standard=250ppm

reading=1286ppm

wtf?

it got me into looking at some carb issues. via the other board i got some jetting info. here is what i figured out i am running.

primary

idle=60

main=140

air correction=145

secondary

idle=55

main=170

air correction=175

do these jet specs seem ok for the hot arizona climate and a stock engine set up? forgive me this is my first attempt at carb work.

am i looking into this too much? i cleaned the carb up today and it seemed to adjust more to what the weber website suggested.

is it all in the idle mixture screw? i just wish i could know that the damn thing is gonna pass and not have to shot gun parts till something works.
