Found a way to protect dash from Key wear

Recently purchased a Jibbon key organizer to slim down my key mess, turns out it works great in the 02 to protect against the dash against dreaded key ware.
My only complaint is that its manufactured in China - quality is good but shipping takes a while.IMG_5349.thumb.jpg.66d47df07076a121c2d4d2e4a4b792c5.jpg

Nice solution. First thing I do with my ‘02s is remove that lower pad.

Yep, mine's been off since mid-May 1969, a week or two after buying the car.  I found it was very difficult to insert the key when it was in my key case.  So off it came.  Stored carefully away.

Seems that hardly anyone uses a key case any more--probably because of the size of chip-enabled keys.  But they sure keep your keys from wearing holes in your pants pockets.

No need to remove the lower pad if you have a key fob. A peeve of mine is things sliding, klanking, jiggling while I’m busy!

Like the cassettes!!

I use something similar, with three keys - doors/ignition, trunk, gas cap.  No need for any more unless you're a custodian!

I'd love to find a few just like Bob's, but after an hour online no luck...  Anybody know where to get that key holder (with or without logo's fine)?

How about this:

As my Touring is basically a 'once in a while' driver, I just have the key with the small gas cap key. I have the same unmarked lower dash panel that was in there when I bought the car in 1986.
