To be pedantic -- as I, too often, am -- the swan's neck style mirror (interchangeable left and right) was used up to April 1971 (introduction of the Modell 71) and the trapezoid (a.k.a., "trap") mirror was used from April 1971 onward. So, if you have an early '71 (no knee trim, no bumper rub strips, short console, 6-fuse fuseholder), you're looking for a swan's neck and if you have a late '71 (knee trim, bumper rub strips, long console, 12-fuse fuseholder), you're looking for a trap mirror.
