Looking for a bmw 2002

Hello, 

I am looking for a 2002tii that my father had previously owned. I was wondering if there was any way to access the 2002 registry that I have seen online or if anyone here had any information.

Some info on the car

1974 Black 2002tii

Swapped with a 5 speed transmission in the 80's

Was sold in Austin Texas in 1984

I know that isn't a lot of info but it would be super cool to be able to find the car.

You can access the registry that's part of the FAQ by going down to the bottom of this page (the blue band) and look under "services" for "registry."  But...you're gonna need the VIN from your Dad's car as the registry is by VIN.  However, it was a '74tii, so all those cars' VINs begin with 278XXXX (they're only 7 digit VINs), so start looking.  

 

You might also contact Terry Sayther--his shop in Austin probably worked on the car at one time or another as it's been there since the late 70s... and finally--there are a bunch of Texas folks on the FAQ--including more than a few in the Austin area--who may know of the car.  Black was an unusual color for an '02, so there can't be too many black 74tii's around (unless it's been repainted, of course!)
