Limerock Historics-Labor Day Weekend

I remember getting an email recently about registering (with my local BMW club?) for "Sunday in the Park", a gathering of marques on the track at Limerock Labor Day Weekend. They gather the individual marques together in groups all around the track. It's a really great gathering with always some great cars to see.

 

I seemed to have misplaced that email to register my 02 to be with the 02 group. Did anybody else get that email or register for that Sunday and if so, could you send me the info?

I'm pretty sure you can just show up with your car, but the email was to reserve a spot with the other 02's I think.

  I thought that was usually on Labor day...

 

I've not been to that in a coon's age.

No idea. Too far for a day trip anyway. Lime Rock is an hour away for me.

The Glen vintage weekend is usually the weekend after Labor Day.  This year it is from September 8 through the 11th.  The Grand prix festival in the village takes place on Friday September 9th.  There are activities all day long that include car displays and paced laps of the original 6.6 mile course.  This years featured marque is the Ford Mustang,  so most likely, my 1600 will not be there because I will have the mustang out for the festivities.  By searching Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival 2022 on google,  you will find the home page.  It started in 1993 and I have been to or participated in every one.  It is a lot of fun!

Don't worry about any specific e-mail. Go directly to the Lime Rock website.

At the Lime Rock Vintage Fall Festival Sunday in the Park & Meeting of the Marques. After you purchase your Sunday ticket. If you drive a BMW 2002, you will be directed & parked along the Esses & the beginning of No Name Straight with the other '02s. BMWs take up both sides.

If driving from MA there is a great scenic twisty route you can pick up in Great Barrington: 41S.
Then exiting Salisbury take a left onto Salmon Kill Rd. Another scenic and twisty road.

Watch for the cops around Lime Rock that weekend. Easy pickings for them.
