Rubber Boot Repairs

Recommended Posts

Thought this is directly related to a Neue Klasse parts, this repair can be done on other rubber boots.  I have done this to this shifter boot and have done this in the past to the rubber hose from the air box to the carburetor.

A little patience required and a couple adhesives.

The adhesives required are Superglue that can be used on rubber and is flexible.

Second adhesive is a high quality gasket maker. It also needs to be flexible.

Make sure you start with a clean boot

Apply superglue to the edges and tab the parts together until the glue is starting to activate

When it becomes sticky, line up the parts and let the glue cure.  See instructions for your glue for time and use.

Once the glue is set and dry, apply the gasket maker material to the repaired spot.  Though the gasket material will attach well, do not apply it inside the air intake or any other place where loose material can cause issues.
