Hey I don't drive my car because it's an investment, it's a car I wanted since I was a kid and the price has just come with the times of it being 50 years old and relatively few left that are in great shape. My OCD is strong with my old cars and I gain a tremendous amount of enjoyment knowing/feeling that all is to spec, running as good as can be, clean / tidy and aesthetically pleasing. I drive mine everywhere until the snow flies, but the value is just another aspect/reality of '02 ownership in 2022. Maybe not to everyone's liking but it is what it is. Do I wish the car was still as affordable and easy to source parts for cheaply as used to be? Of course! But what are you gonna do?

I echo your sentiment! My car is pretty well restored but not quite on the level of yours. Regardless, everyone’s always surprised that I drive it to work once or twice a week and take it on rallies and road trips with my wife occasionally. At the end of the day, it’s just a car and one that I enjoy incredibly. That’s why I keep coming back to 02’s all these years later; nothing else ticks as many boxes as they do IMHO.
