Dummy fog light knob removal

I went put in my defrost switch replacement for a fog light switch around the instrument cluster, and thinking the dummy should just come out by removing the bolt from behind. However, it is not coming out, and I don't want to damage a nearly perfect dash. I did do a search, but it all just talked about removing knob and rewiring for the fogs. I'm sure it is something silly, but what am I missing here. Thanks for any direction.  Aidan   '76 Pastellblau

you got to pop the silver center out of the black knob. There is a screw in there.

Nah...Not on the square tail cars!

Remove the screw from the back and give it a little twist & pull.  Don't ruin your dummy knob!

The rubber shoulder seems to swell up in the hole, just grasp the dummy by the knob and work it side to side a little while pulling/pushing .. it will come out

Success! Yes, what real OEM calls a plug is just that. I did what John and Tech said, and out it came. Thanks guys. And I do have John's wiring diagram for fog lights.   Aidan
