Thank you TobyB.  I found a few threads on the S5-18/3 the (non bmw) lots to read as I assume there internally similar. I'll keep looking.

I have one too but no experience with them yet, It also came out of an 85 318i.

All I an say for certain is they are dimensionally the same as a Getrag 240, thinking about installing it into Franzi.
