One Owner Turkisblau 2002

Although I can’t tell you specifically what that April 4, 1973 document is (first photo below) — it appears to be a BMW AG build sheet, something I’ve not previously seen — it describes the following:

 

1. VIN 1659872, a RHD, European-market 2002, production model code 2553, factory-equipped with a manual transmission and manufactured sometime within the January to April 1973 time frame (the second photo below is a screen print of the results of the VIN decoder offered by the BMW 2002 Car Club of Columbia).

2. Finished in exterior color code 065, Turkis metallic (third and fourth photos below, from the October 1972 paint and upholstery brochure), and

 

3. Having a cloth-and-vinyl interior, in S 70/92, ribbed off-white cloth, color code 70, and black smooth vinyl, color code 92 (third and fifth photos below, also from the October 1972 paint and upholstery brochure).

 

I hope others can jump in and translate some of the other data on this rare document. I’m guessing that Hoffman Motors Corp received similar documents for each car it imported, but those records were lost or destroyed after Hoffman closed.

I found a similar document in my Euro 1980 635csi. I sent an image of it to Andreas Harz at BMW Classic and he decoded it for me.

I went through the absolute massive stack of documents Enrico gave me and indeed the car was repainted 15 years ago in Sydney. 
 

also found another document which is required to keep track of how many times a historic vehicle is driven in NSW and he drove it 5 times since August 2020.
