Figured I'd ask just in case. Wondering if anyone has a set of new Bilstein HDs (PN 34-632192) they don't need.

Happy to buy/trade.

Thanks!

Jason

I have two that came from parts car but I believe it is the sports version, 34000250.  Looks like they put them in but to test fit as they have scuff marks on them.  More or less new, with box, boot and ring cap.

Well cool. I'm still leaning toward HDs but know availability is more like Feb next year.

Let me keep looking but I do appreciate you reaching out. I'll let you know.

Basically NEW!

@Mike Self has them on both of his cars and when he put the set on the second car, he said he could not tell the difference between the new ones and the set that had 180k miles on them... iirc.

Now :D I'm thinking of raising the price.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Missed this update! Thanks for everyone's comments. Work has kept my head down.

After some research, my new understanding is that the HD struts part number is 34-000236 as per this post from @02ManyBimmers.

Quote
Bilstein HD (B6)= Old# (F4-P30-0023-H0)  New#(34-000236)  163/76 Parameter
Bilstein HD (B6)= Old#(F4-B46-0803-H2), New# (24-008037) B6  121/57 Parameter
Bilstein Sport front (B8) = Old#(F4-P30-0025-H0)  New#(34-000250)  200/85 Parameter

Bilstein Sport rear (B8)  = Old# (F4-B46-0118-H1), New# (24-001182)  200/60 Parameter

Understanding Bilstein Valve Ratings
Damping forces for Bilstein valving is measured in Newtons at a velocity of 0.52 meters/seconds (approximately 20 inches/second). The ratings shown correspond to those measurements; rebound force is the first number, followed by compression force (rebound / compression). Conventionally, the ratings are written as one tenth the damping force in Newtons.
EXAMPLE: Valve rating: 163 / 76 (HD Fronts)
Rebound force is 1630 Newtons at 0.52 m/s
Compression force is 760 Newtons at 0.52 m/s
Higher numbers mean higher (firmer) damping forces. For example, 200/85 (Sport Fronts) has more control and is firmer than 163/76 (HD Fronts), which has less control and is softer.

I was mistakenly thinking that HDs for our cars was 34-632192, but 34-632192 is for the 1500-2000s cars.

I verified on the bilstein website, they have a pdf with classic shock/strut tech, their "klassik-katalog". Nice photos of early 911s. Page 22 has the e10. Bilstein now calls the HDs "sports", but the valving is very nearly the same as classic HDs (listed as 163/76 above) at 160/75. The old/new sports struts are much firmer at 200/85, listed as 34-000250 in the new katalog.

So, the long/short of this story is that Bilsgtein HD struts for the e10, part number 34-000236, appears to be available at multiple suppliers, am checking into it. Fingers crossed.

Will let you know @jimk, if I can't find them new I'm interested!

Of course I could be misreading all of this.. 🙂
