Death and taxes - bastard customs just took €31 off me to receive this awesome package. Thanks again Dave and Steve for making this happen - thought the QR code might be something cool, but it's just the Chinese manufacturer - pretty sure they don't have anything else I want 🙂

Two successful transplants were performed today.   A couple tips:

  • The spacer tubes were stuck on both the WURs I rebuilt.  I used a little right angled pick to yank them out of the WUR body.
  • A toothbrush works good for cleaning out the tube.  It's amazing what a plastic brush and dishwashing liquid can do.
  • Harbor Freight makes a nice little T-Handled 2mm hex key

Thanks again to all who made this happen,

John

Received my kit. Will be interested to see how good or bad my original one is since my pump was rebuilt by Fairchild in 2008.  It normally takes my car 2 times to start when cold. After the second cranking, it warms up nicely.

I purchased this kit because my warm up regulator was not rising to half the recommended minimum height. When cold my engine ran rough and it took about 5 minutes to smooth out. The new unit reacts quicker and my cold running is normal.
The installation is simple and the calibration was easier then expected. My wur was very clean and the top retaining collar came off easily. Installing the collar was harder because of the spring pressure. After a few tries  I got it on.  I have an A4 itb system and I had to readjust my idle and shorter throttle rod, as it had been previously tuned to run and start with a malfunctioning wur.
Thanks for making this happen. Otherwise we would be without a solution as the original part has been discontinued, and when available, expensive.
This is a must- do if you are cleaning or resealing the warm up regulator.
I cannot imagine that there is a tii out there with a correctly functioning one, as mine was immaculate inside and had low miles.

Shipment of the WUR arrived in Europe within a week. Installing the actuator was easy and very accurate.
Getting it out took more effort after sitting for 50 years. The ultrasonic cleaner helped out great.
The tool is handy but not strong enough if all is seized, be sure the locknut can move before you use the tool.

I am pleased a replacement actuator is now available for our Tii's. I'll install the WUR on the 02 soon.

Perfect timing - I just installed my kit (that I bought months and months ago). Highly complete, even comes with the critical tools you need. Overall fantastic packaging - very professional.

Hardest part was putting the cap back on with the spring. Mine was pretty clean inside but now it's even cleaner. 👍

Really appreciate the photos of the calibration steps @JohnS, I'll do that today.

Thank you for orchestrating this @dlacey!
