Antenna alternative

Have you done an internet search for the proper Bosch or Hirschmann antenna?  I suspect there are some out there.   Quite a few are listed on the internet if you type in "Hirschmann antenna for BMW".

But if not, there were several Hondas back in the 70s, 80s and 90s that used a similar (but not identical) up-the-A-pillar antenna.  I know they'll work on a 2002 'cause I've seen em mounted on '02s.

Both of my cars are sporting the Harada PM-13.  It's what was on both of them when I bought them.  I was able to find some NOS ones on ebay back in 2018.  They might have gone the way of the dinosaur by now...

It's a great antenna (Harada PM-13).  Metal base, stainless mast and gets a really good signal for those of us who still use those "Radio Things" 🙂

It looks good too.  I think a lot of dealers in California installed these back in the day.

I've used the standard round-based type Hirschmann, Bosch, etc.  and this one picks up stations better where I live.  And it doesn't cramp the window seal too closely like the round base does.  My $.02  Made out of metal instead of plastic like the newer ones 🤕
